Took him alittle while to find his feet in the match, but after that was very impressed. Though he tracked back plenty as well.
Him fully fit, and settled is quite exciting.

Agree with most of this but his pace alone makes a massive difference.

As I said on another thread, I watched the game again on Tuesday morning with the added benefit of a degree of sobriety (not the case on Monday night).

He most certainly did not track back well, especially first half when we were a lot less compact. He's obviously not fully fit but I thought he looked lazy when we didn't have the ball, runs down blind alleys and not a great final ball.

Having said which, Slav can work on all of this and thinking about our options at the end of last season, what a luxury it is to have real threat on the counter.

I thought he tracked back well - a couple of times Newcastle broke away from corners and set plays near their box, and he was the first one back covering alongside whichever fullback had remained deep.

As I said on another thread, my only concern is we have no chance by all accounts to sign him permanently, so if he becomes a key player it's a very short sighted move. Would rather Antonio and Lanzini (and to some extent, Zarate) were being given the chance to establish themselves first given they have a long term future with us.

I thought he had a poor first half.

But he's one of those players who can do something so special that it's worth carrying him for half a match.

He piled forward like a thoroughbred and was composed with his little turn and shot just a bit too much power.

One to watch is Moses he almost parted the sea but not quite.

Very in and out player. Poor finisher. One asset is speed. Liability if given job to get back with his full back. Bad tackler.

Probably needs to slow down, get his head up and composure when given a chance.

Knew he would be excellent.

Why mention the scrapbook fairytale Quran? If people want to believe in the supernatural then fair enough but keep it off this footy site.
